In line with the Turkish and Norwegian Governments’ efforts to further boost and emphasize the friendly and cooperative alliance relation between Turkey and Norway, upon the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Abdullah Gül, President of Turkey, Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja will pay an Official State Visit to Turkey on 5-7 November 2013.

Taking the opportunity of this State Visit, the Embassy of Turkey in Oslo enhanced its efforts to raise awareness on the amicable Turkish-Norwegian relations and to increase the people-to-people contact on the dates prior to 5-7 November 2013.

Below is a list of cultural events and intellectual activities that the Embassy of Turkey is proud to be a sponsor/collaborator of in the Fall 2013 period in Norway:

23 September 2013: Presentation of the newest Turkish-Norwegian Dictionary at the Oslo University

3 October 2013: A Lecture on the Medieval Shipwreck Excavations in the Yenikapı District of İstanbul at the Norwegian Maritime Museum

8-11 October 2013: International Conference entitled "Life and death in ancient societies: Asia Minor in the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine Times” organized by the Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History of the University of Oslo in Fredrikstad

11 October 2013: NUPI Seminar entitled “Islam Without Extremes – A Muslim Case for Liberty” by Turkish political commentator and author, Mr. Mustafa Akyol

14 October 2013: Gala screening of the film, “Araf” by the Turkish Director Ms. Yeşim Ustaoğlu as a part of the Films from the South Festival in Oslo
