Press Release Regarding the Attack at a University in Kenya

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 02.04.2015

No: 100, 2 April 2015

We have learned with great sorrow that more than hundred people lost their lives and many others were injured as a result of the armed attack at Garissa University College, in the northeast of Kenya, on 2 April. We strongly condemn this heinous attack. We convey our condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives in the attack and to the people of Kenya, and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

This attack targeting an educational institution and the youth, who will build the future, demonstrated the cruel face of terrorism once again. In this critical period, the increasing support of the international community to Kenya is of great importance.

Turkey will continue to provide every kind of support to Kenya in its fight against terrorism, as it has done until so far.
