We consider the agreement reached between the leaders of the ruling and the opposition parties to hold early general elections in April 2016 in the Republic of Macedonia as a step in the right direction towards resolving the ongoing domestic political contention in Macedonia through dialogue in accordance with democratic rules and the rule of law, as emphasized by Turkey on every occasion.

We believe that the elections will contribute to further strengthening democracy and a reconciliation culture in the friendly Republic of Macedonia and we hope that they will be held in an atmosphere of reconciliation and respect among all political and social segments, including our kinsmen.
