Visa and Entry Requirements

  • COP31 Visa: The Government of Türkiye has authorized an electronic, free-of-charge “COP31 Visa”, for all registered participants of COP 31 Türkiye. COP31 participants who require a visa to travel to Türkiye will apply for “COP31 Visa” through the e-Visa platform.
  • COP31 Visa Exemption Certificate: COP 31 participants who are exempt from the visa requirement for travel to Türkiye are still required to apply to Türkiye’s e-Visa platform to receive an official document confirming the applicant’s visa exemption.
  • Passport Validity:All foreign participants entering Türkiye for COP 31 and the pre-session meetings must hold a passport that is valid for at least 90 days after the date of arrival to Türkiye.
  • Application Process: All registered participants of COP 31 Türkiye, regardless of their visa-requirement status, must apply through the COP31 e-Visa platform at www.evisa.gov.tr
  • In order to apply, participants
    • Should register on the COP31 e-Visa portal;
  • Upload a passport-size photograph (maximum 4 MB; PNG, JPEG or JPG formats);
  • Complete the application form and submit it for approval;
  • Once approved, the COP31 Visa can be downloaded from the portal; and
  • Participants can also check their application status through the portal.
  • Visa Details:The issued COP 31 Visas will be a multiple-entry visa valid from November 1 to 30, 2026, with a 30-day stay period.
  • The applicants need to visit the e-Visa portal at the link, create an user account, fill out the forms, upload the passport-size photograph and submit it for approval. Once approved, the COP31 Visa or COP31 Visa Exemption Certificate can be downloaded on the same webpage through “My Visa Applications” sections while the applicant is logged in to the user account.
  • Processing Time:The visas will be issued within 7 working days.
  • Early application: Participants are strongly encouraged to apply for the COP31 Visa promptly once their UNFCCC registration is confirmed.
  • Travel Insurance: According to Turkish regulations, any foreigner who will be entering into Türkiye must have a valid travel insurance. The Turkish border officers might ask for the proof of travel insurance policy.
  • VVIP Arrangements: The delegations headed by a Head of State or Government are required to contact the Directorate General of Protocol and Diplomatic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye or a Turkish Diplomatic Representation regarding protocol arrangements, including special visa procedures.
